Biography

André Gemme dit Carrière was born and baptized on the same day (17 Nov 1795), in St-Eustache, son of Thomas-Hyacinthe Gemme dit Carrière and Charlotte Legault dite Deslauriers. ^[1]

When André was 26 years old, he married Émilie Woods, natural child, on 27 Apr 1819 in St-Benoît church, near Mirabel in Quebec. ^[1]

André was buried on December 28, 1864 at Notre-Dame, Montréal, Quebec, Canada. He was 70 years of age.

Note: Saint-Eustache is in Quebec, Canada, west of Montreal on the north shore of the Rivière des Mille-Îles. The church of Saint-Eustache is a Roman Catholic church built in 1783 which is located in Saint-Eustache in Quebec (Canada). She (the church) witnessed the battle of Saint-Eustache during the 1837 rebellion. It was classified heritage building in 1970.
